I first developed a love of flowers & floral designing when I was quite young.
My parents were both florists so I grew up appreciating the wonderful effect that
both giving and receiving a gift of flowers can have on people.
After a couple of false starts in other jobs I returned to my first love and owned
and operated my florist shop in Havelock North for 24 years. During that time I
became heavily involved in the Floral Industry. I am a Past-President of Teleflora
having served on that Executive Board for 14 years, as well as serving as
Assessment Co-Ordinator on the board of NZPF. I am currently NZPF's Vice-
President.
I am a tutor at The School of Floral Design in Rotorua, and very much enjoy
my involvement with the students particularly in the area of the Design Theory.
My qualifications include: Diploma and Master Florist, Accredited Assessor,
Moderator's and Adult Teaching Certificates.
The best time in my floristry career to this point, was going to St. Petersburg,
Russia as a member of the City of Melbourne design team. Both an exciting and
challenging experience.
None of these wonderful experiences would have been possible without taking
that initial step of becoming an NZPF member.
