Flowers are the ultimate physical expression used to convey human emotions.

I started my career in floristry at eighteen and trained under Les Finch in Te Awamutu. I gained my NZPF Diploma and went on to gain my NZPF Assessor’s qualification. Years of dedicated study and practice resulted in a Master Florist qualification.

I owned and operated a floral studio for sixteen years and became very involved with Interflora and NZPF.
I am presently NZPF Assessment Co-ordinator and Chief-Area Assessor for the Waikato - Bay of Plenty.

I have twice represented Waikato Bay of Plenty in the Interflora Designer of the Year competition and won the National Flora Flora Professional Florist competition in 2002. These challenges are exciting.

Highlights have been writing, directing and producing two floral theatre shows. These introduced the public to new floristry trends as living art incorporating live music and lighting effects.

I tutor the Certificate in Floristry Practice at Wintec in Hamilton and the educational opportunities for florists today are enormous. Tutoring is now a way of furthering your floristry career.

Family, flowers, and brass music are my passions.
